Smoky Mountain Resorts Maximizes RevPar & Cross Selling Online with Multi-Property PMS and Booking Engine

| September 24, 2009

Smoky Mountain Resorts, operator of seven properties and more than 750 rooms, installed NORTHWIND-Maestro PMS' ASP Multi-Property PMS, ResWave online booking software, Sales and Catering, Condo and Timeshare Owner Management, and Yield Management across its hotels.

The Maestro Multi-Property system utilizes a centrally-hosted single-image database and ResWave Web booking with integrated Yield Management for reservations at all properties to ensure optimized rates, accurate inventories, and management controls.  Smoky Mountain Resorts operates Country Inn & Suites, Ramada Inn, Rodeway Inn and independent properties.

A strong multi-property system
"Maestro Multi-Property PMS with the ResWave booking engine, Condo-Timeshare, and Sales and Catering was the best system to enable us to cross-sell our hotels online and from our call center with a single-inventory database for optimized prices and accurate availability," says Kay Collier-Pittman, president of Smoky Mountain Resorts. "We host our Maestro Multi-Property PMS for all our hotels on one platform and operate our properties and inventories with centralized controls for optimized pricing and management oversight. Maestro has flexible packages and management reporting; it is a very strong multi-property system that performs well regardless of how many different flags you may operate."

Smoky Mountain Resorts operates six hotels and one condominium complex that it markets for unit owners with the Maestro Condo-Timeshare Management System.  Collier-Pittman notes an important advantage her company gets from Maestro Multi-Property is Smoky Mountain Resort's ability to offer all its properties, regardless of flag, from one online ResWave booking engine and one database for all rooms.  Smoky Mountain Resorts is a drive-to family destination in the heart of the Smoky Mountains and close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

"Many of our guests phone in to our Maestro central reservations call center to ask for a room in one of our budget properties, like a Rodeway Inn; but we often can suggest another of our hotels with an indoor poor or other amenity with availability that we think the children might enjoy more," says Collier-Pittman. "Our reservations agents can see the availability for all our properties on one screen so they can cross sell to offer guests the most appropriate accommodation at any of our resorts."  Because the resort company uses the ResWave online booking engine that is fully integrated in the single-image Maestro Multi-Property database, Smoky Mountain Resorts also offers reservations for all its properties from its website. "We sell many types of packages with the ResWave booking engine and the Maestro Yield Management system optimizes rates for our hotels on every reservation channel, including online booking sites," says Collier-Pittman.
