Marriott Chief IT Officer Elected to HTNG Board of Governors

Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) announces an addition to its Board of Governors, the key direction-setting body for the organization. Consisting of CIO-level hotel IT executives from 20 of the world's leading hotel groups, it has the technology responsibility for over three million guest rooms. The election of Page Petry, Chief IT Officer of the Americas at Marriott International, as Governor further solidifies HTNG as the leading hospitality technology association in the industry.         
 
Petry is the Chief IT Officer of the Americas at Marriott International in Washington D.C., where she is charged with directing key initiatives from conception to completion, with responsibility for 3500 hotels that span from Canada to Argentina.

Petry joined Marriott in 1979 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in several areas including Hotel Operations, Customer Call Centers and Regional Information Systems.   
 
Following her initial eleven year tenure with Marriott, Petry worked with Fannie Mae and Varsity Books.com, an internet start-up company before rejoining Marriott in 2000 as the Regional Director of Information Resources (IR) North American Lodging Field Services for the Southeast Region.  In 2006 Page’s accountabilities were expanded to include the North American portfolio as the Senior Vice President, IR North American Lodging Field Services.  Under her leadership the organization continued to develop as a best in class Shared Services organization with skilled resources providing IT leadership throughout North America. 

In 2010 Petry joined the Americas Continent organization as the Chief Information Resources Officer- Americas.  Over the last four years Petry has led the IT integration for the Autograph Collection, Gaylord Hotels and Delta Hotels and Resorts.   In 2011, she was honored with a place on Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders.

HTNG is a self-funded, nonprofit organization with members from hotel and hospitality companies, technology vendors to hospitality, consultants, media and academic experts. HTNG's members participate in focused workgroups to bring to market open solution sets addressing specific business problems. HTNG fosters the selection and adoption of existing open standards and also develops new open standards to meet the needs of the global hospitality industry.
  
Currently more than 400 corporate and individual members from across this spectrum, including most of the world's leading hotel companies and technology vendors, are active HTNG participants. HTNG publishes workgroup proceedings, drafts and specifications for all HTNG members as soon as they are created, encouraging rapid and broad adoption. HTNG releases specifications into the public domain as soon as they are ratified by the workgroups.
