Captain D's Upgrades its Kitchens

| November 01, 2004

Captain D's, operator of more than 580 seafood restaurants is installing QSR Automations (qsrautomations.com) ePic Kitchen Management Solution, with 30 stores planned for completion by the end of 2004 and continued implementation efforts to occur throughout 2005. Captain D's has also made QSR's ePic solution available to its franchisees.

"Our goal at Captain D's is to provide an exceptional dining experience with fresh, quality seafood in a quick and casual setting, and QSR's kitchen solution is helping us enhance our customer interactions and serving times," says Chris Crabtree, senior director of information services.

A pioneer in quick-casual dining, the first Captain D's Seafood restaurant launched in 1969 with the goal of providing high quality seafood at reasonable prices in a relaxed atmosphere.

"QSR's design philosophy-matched only by the company's responsiveness to its clients-ensures our technology is out of mind, allowing us to focus on our guests and operations," adds Crabtree. Today, recent record store revenues are propelling the company's newest initiatives to expand and further evolve as a fast casual restaurant concept, including a new store design that features an open kitchen where customers can feel they are a part of the fresh, made-to-order preparation process. With ePic Kitchen Display Software, dine-in and drive-thru orders are routed immediately upon entry into any point-of-sale terminal to the appropriate kitchen preparation stations. Customer interaction and serving times are enhanced because servers are no longer required to turn away from the customer to hang a ticket for the kitchen.
