Adeliade Inn Website Gets Res Engine Overhaul

Topaz Hotel Services announces its use of AJAX Booking Engine technology for the Adelaide Inn website, www.adelaideinn.com. Through AJAX's BookAbility 3™ it is now possible to fully integrate the reservations process into a hotel's website.

This reservations system comprises a set of components that are integrated where desired, during the creation of the website itself. The web designer determines the placement of the booking system components, incorporating functionality into design.

"The new state of web technology now allows the flexibility of having a portion of a web page to be dynamically generated," states Jackson Thompson, Topaz's director of information technology. "This permits the page to act more like a traditional computer application. With no rigid format to follow, the designer is free to use creativity with both the form and the function of the website/reservation system."

Information, such as room rate and the availability of a particular room type, may be displayed on the website's "Specials" page, for example. The user may select that room and continue with the booking process without the extra step of clicking "Reservations" to access the booking engine in order to see if the desired room is available before starting the reservation process.

"The use of AJAX technology creates an informative, guest-specific experience, drawing the user more effortlessly through the hotel reservation process. This ease of use improves the user experience with the aim of increasing website production," says Eric Gustavson, president and co-founder of Topaz.
