August proved to be a hot one in the point-of-sale market. Some of the top headlines touted restaurant and hotel operators implementing new POS technology as well as renewed attention to online ordering, mobile payments, cloud-based options and interactive capabilities.

Jet's Pizza Experiences Growth with New POS Tech
Point-of-sale technology from Revention helps a pizza chain to continue its growth plan by expanding online ordering capabilities and providing cross-chain stats. Jet’s approved Revention as a POS provider in August of 2011 and since then Revention is now being used in more than 100 Jet’s locations. The chain has enjoyed consistent growth within the pizza segment for years and plans to continue that growth by implementing new technologies such as online ordering.

Saladworks Intros Interactive Menus for Guests with Allergies
Saladworks has rolled out customized interactive menus from Gipsee to make it easier for customers with allergies to analyze items. Customers may also select Vegan or Vegetarian options and immediately see available choices from existing Saladworks menus.

Burger Chain Streamlines Ordering Process with Online and Mobile Capabilities
Fatburger has launched mobile and online ordering with OLO. Created for the iconic better burger chain, Fatburger, enables everyone, from Hollywood celebrities to regular Joe’s, to order up small, medium, large, XXL or XXXL Fatburgers, topped with Fatburger’s iconic and unique selection of add-ons (i.e. egg, bacon, chili, cheese, guacamole, etc.), all from the convenience of their computer or mobile phone.  Better yet, online users can Skip The Line at Fatburger locations.
