Venezuela's Marriott Hotel Playa Grande Goes for Safety Triple-Play with Help from VingCard Elsafe
The new Venezuela Marriott Hotel Playa Grande in Catia la Mar has completed the installation of Vingcard Elsafe's VISION by VingCard system (a flexible hotel locking system with intuitive touch screen technology), Signature RFID by VingCard contactless electronic door locks, and Infinity II by Elsafe electronic in-room safes. The 206-room property is located just minutes from the Simon Bolivar International Airport and is in close proximity to both downtown Caracas and the beach. The ocean-front property features an on-site fitness center, sport court, three restaurants, a full-service business center and 10,785 square feet of meeting space and offers access to four nearby golf courses as well as access to bowling, jogging, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, tennis and a nature-preserve trail, making the property an ideal destination for travelers with a myriad of interests.

VISION by VingCard offers a cost-effective solution for properties like Marriott Hotel Playa Grande to control access to every door on their property. Unlike traditional systems, VISION by VingCard uses intuitive touchscreen technology and menu-driven software for user-friendly operation. The system allows properties to integrate into their current PMS (Property Management System) or any other Windows-based workstation and use Plug-and-Play connectivity for quick and easy installation. Additionally, with the portable Windows pocket PC LockLink, the staff can easily view the last 600 locking events directly from the guestroom door, keeping staff constantly up-to-date on procedures at the property.
To complement the VISION system, the Marriott Hotel Playa Grande also chose Signature RFID by VingCard electronic locks, which employ the latest locking technology to offer a unique contactless design for user-friendly, intuitive guest interaction paired with unsurpassed security, including anti-cloning technology that provides extra protection against keycard cloning. Additionally, the property can adapt Signature RFID to its users' needs, employing options from contactless keycards to wristbands to key fobs, and even cutting-edge Near Field Communication (NFC) cell phones to bring a unique experience to each individual that uses the locks.
Upon completing installation of Signature RFID, the property might choose to offer remote check-in to hotel guests with NFC-compatible cell phones, which would allow guests to skip the check-in line and instead use their NFC-enabled cell phones to unlock the guestroom door. Signature RFID is a secure open-platform system compatible with the three leading RFID ISO standards (ISO 14443A/MiFare, ISO 14443B, ISO 15693) and the new NFC transaction platform for cell phones.
In addition to these two security solutions, the property has chosen to install Infinity II by Elsafe electronic in-room safes. The Infinity II series also features a hook-style interlocking mechanism; an anti-tamper labyrinth to prevent reaching the electronics; a solid piece, cold-pressed curved steel door to provide additional strength; and extended solid hinges permanently arc-welded to the door. These four unique features make it incomparably secure and one of the only UL-listed safe series on the market.
