Tyco Electronics Expands OS Base for B, D Series Touch Computers

Tyco Electronics Elo TouchSystems, a provider of professional touchscreen products, announced that its B-Series and D-Series All-in-One (AiO) touchcomputer families are now available with Microsoft’s Windows 7 Professional and Windows POSReady 2009 operating systems. The Elo TouchSystems B- and D-Series All-in-One touchcomputer families consist of five highly configurable, ruggedized and cost-effective All-in-One (AiO) touch systems designed to support a wide range of point-of-service (POS) and point-of-information (POI) applications.
 
With the introduction of Microsoft Windows 7 Professional and POSReady 2009 operating systems on the Elo TouchSystems B-and D-Series AiO touchcomputers, customers can now take advantage of the latest Microsoft platform features, including one-finger gestures and the ability to effectively “future-proof” their POS and POI installations in preparation for next generation hardware and software options.
 
With multiple connection ports and expansion slots for easy system configuration, both the B- and D-Series models fit virtually any space constraint or in-store design demand. The Windows 7 Professional operating system features the latest Windows technology innovations to drive rich, immersive user experiences and context-aware applications. Windows POSReady 2009 (OS) is optimized for OEMs designing POS solutions and enterprises using POS devices. This next-generation POS platform is a flexible operating system designed to seamlessly connect POS solutions with peripherals, servers and services.  In addition, these Windows operating systems continue to offer smart power management APIs, which allows retailers to map to energy efficiency and in-store green initiatives
