The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Selects Software Suite from Agilysys

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, Va. selects the Visual One solution suite by Agilysys to streamline operations and enhance guest service at its five Colonial Williamsburg properties: the Williamsburg Inn, Colonial Houses, Williamsburg Lodge, Woodlands Hotels & Suites and Governor's Inn. The properties are using the Visual One property management system and Visual One solutions for point-of-sale, golf management and spa management.

"The Visual One suite fits our needs exactly with comprehensive software solutions that are easy to use and that allow us to create a variety of vacation packages," says Douglas Marty, director of information technology at The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. "The technology also enables us to provide guests with one-stop shopping. In a single website visit or conversation with reservations staff, guests can reserve a room, make a spa appointment, book golf tee times and schedule a variety of activities. The technology's tight integration allows us to manage day-to-day operations more efficiently and provide seamless guest service from arrival through departure." The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has implemented the following solutions from Agilysys:

  • Visual One Property Management System, a comprehensive property management solution that offers a wide range of features and functionality, including front office operations, guest history, housekeeping, night audit, reservations management, room maintenance and more. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation uses the Visual One activities module to manage its many amenities and activities and the Visual One sales & catering module to manage meeting room and banquet operations.
  • Visual One POS, a made-for-hospitality point-of-sale solution that is both touch-screen and barcode controlled. The POS system is used for retail charges at The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg.
  • Visual One GolfPro, a complete pro shop management solution that goes beyond sales and inventory control to offer tee-time scheduling, member billing, tournament management and more. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation uses the solution at its three golf courses.
  • Visual One Spa Management System, a feature-rich spa management solution that tracks employee work schedules and commission levels, enables scheduling by date, time, type of service and staff member, and sends e-mail appointment confirmations to guests.
