Sizzler to Share Food Truck Innovation Secrets at MURTEC 2012

Hospitality Technology Magazine has announced that Chris Rahder, head of non-traditional business development for Sizzler, is slated to present a speech on Thursday, March 22, during the 17th annual Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference (MURTEC). Rahder will focus on technologies that are helping to shape the growing food truck trend in the restaurant industry.

The National Restaurant Association has released new research confirming that nearly six out of ten consumers would be likely to visit food trucks if their favorite restaurant offered one. In late 2011, Sizzler’s teamed with ISISPOS to launch a food truck line. Rahder will discuss how the trending food truck business may present opportunities to improve the bottom line and spread brand awareness for restaurants with on-the-go menu appeal.

Attendees will find out what it takes, from an operational and technology standpoint, to get started and be successful in this type of non-traditional business development. Rahder is the leader of Sizzler’s food truck initiative and will discuss such elements as inventory management, POS integration, mobile and social marketing, digital signage, and even the use of iPads for ordering.

MURTEC 2012 takes place March 21-23. Attendees will hear from leading restaurant professionals about specific ways they are aligning technology initiatives with business objectives on topics such as integrating mobile platforms, standardizing POS data, optimizing front- and back-of-house operations, business intelligence strategies, and the use of social media. The conference also boasts numerous networking opportunities that enable attendees to connect with visionary leaders, step back and examine business plans, and discover new ways to move companies forward. Pre-registration is required.
