Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (RMCF), a U.S.-based candy retailer, is now implementing a national gift card program with optional credit/debit processing from integrated payments processor, Mercury Payment Systems.
Mercury's recent technology integration to Retail Anywhere POS allowed RMCF franchisees to process card payments directly through their POS system, eliminating the need for third-party processing software and support.
RMCF franchisees can choose to implement just the MercuryGift card program or combine it with Mercury's credit/debit processing. Those who process all payments with Mercury save with free, unlimited MercuryGift transactions and card balance inquiries.
RMCF chose MercuryGift because it meets their functionality requirements at the right price. Features include corporate pooling reconciliation and accurate real-time reports. Additionally, RMCF locations not yet using the Retail Anywhere solution can still benefit from the national solution: Mercury also supports payments made through cash registers using Datacap NoLoad products, terminals, Mercury's Back Office program, and online e-commerce solutions. Canadian locations can also take advantage of the payment solution.

RMCF expects the program to generate additional sales, boost customer loyalty, satisfy consumer demands for gift cards, and appeal to prospective franchisees who are considering operating a RMCF store.
