RIU Hotels & Resorts Launches App to Capture Mobile Bookings

RIU Hotels & Resorts has just launched its first official App for mobile devices with retina display: iPhones and iPods. This app has been fully developed by the hotel chain web team, responding to the growing trend among customers, which consult and purchase directly from mobile devices. This app, available in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Portuguese, can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store (link).
 
The RIU App offers a fast way to consult and book as it provides information in an extremely visual and simple manner, requiring fewer steps and less fields being visited when formalising a booking. Convenient and intuitive, the App displays all the information in relation to the hotels, including photos and descriptions, as well as the latest offers.
 
This tool will be updated constantly, including the latest offers and new consultation options. The RIU development team will use the input provided by the comments and suggestions users share via the Apple App Store to make the appropriate improvements and changes. The first update is expected in the month of December. The application will become universal thanks to this first development, meaning it will not only be compatible with the iPad, as at present, but will be native to these tablets.
