Olive Garden Launches Fuel Rewards Loyalty Initiative

1/29/2015
Recognizing the need to offer rewards that have far-reaching effects, Olive Garden has partnered with the Fuel Rewards Program during their Winter’s 20s promotion. Consumers can now earn fuel savings, for dining at any Olive Garden location.

Fuel Rewards, which has more than four million engaged members nationwide, is a national merchant program that rewards consumers with cents-per-gallon off for their everyday purchases made at thousands of retailers across the country. For restaurants, the attractiveness of the program is simple: the unique and instantly gratifying currency of Fuel Rewards® which can be redeemed at over 11,000 participating Shell locations in the U.S.

The promotion, which runs through March 2015, offers members incentives for shopping with these merchants while using a MasterCard linked to their Fuel Rewards account. The rewards model provides instant gratification, as members can earn up to 40 cents off per gallon in sign-up bonuses, plus 20 cents-off-per-gallon for every $100 spent with the merchants during the promotional period.

Since launching the program in 2012, Fuel Rewards has helped companies increase average in-store spend by 10% and increase shopping frequency by at least 5% through its highly valuable rewards currency. By taking a coalition approach to loyalty, brands involved in the promotion will be able to share individual consumer insights between individual merchants while aggregated insights will be shared across all merchants.
