Kohler Extends Distribution Channel Reach with New Two-Way Interface

Kohler Hospitality Systems has installed a new two-way interface between TravelCLICK's iHotelier CRS and PAR Springer-Miller Systems' SMS|Host Hospitality Management System.

With consumers searching and booking increasingly through electronic channels, particularly the direct online channel, hoteliers, such as Kohler, need to present their inventory in as many places as possible.

PAR Springer-Miller and TravelCLICK, provider of the iHotelier CRS, have partnered to help hotel customers increase their channels of distribution while reducing the total administration time. This new two-way interface between the SMS|Host hospitality management system and iHotelier allows Kohler to achieve greater reach with the iHotelier CRS, including the Global Distribution Systems (GDS), various Online Travel Agencies (OTA's) and the iStay booking engine for the direct online channel, without a corollary increase in labor to maintain rates and availability in both systems.

"Direct booking through our iHotelier iStay booking engine is an important part of our revenue stream," remarked Rob Rohrer, senior systems project leader, Kohler Hospitality Systems. "PAR Springer-Miller's two-way interface with iHotelier helps our organization maximize returns from all of our outward distribution channel."

The two-way interface automates the flow of room type availability and daily pricing of rates from the SMS|Host system into iHotelier as well as reservations from iHotelier to SMS|Host. In a time when rate parity is key to establishing guest confidence, this interface ensures that as pricing changes in SMS|Host to reflect demand, all onward channels are updated as well.
