JW Marriott Indianapolis Downtown Turns TVs in Self-service Portals

2/25/2011
The newly opened JW Marriott Indianapolis Downtown has installed Intelity’s ICE (Interactive Customer Experience) technology in each of its 1,005 guestrooms. Through ICE TV, each television has been transformed into a self-service system that has been designed to boost on-property revenues, lower operating costs and increase guest satisfaction.

Intelity’s ICE TV allows JW Marriott guests to access a virtual, interactive concierge using their TV remote control. Guests can now order in-room dining, make restaurant reservations at the hotel’s two restaurants, request wake-up calls, make spa reservations, request housekeeping or maintenance services. Additionally, guests can also check airline schedules and check-in for flights using the remote and the television in their guest rooms.

“Having the opportunity to bring some of the best and most innovative hospitality technology to the largest JW Marriott in the world was a new milestone for White Lodging,” says Ken Barnes, VP of information technology, White Lodging. “By teaming with Intelity and implementing its revolutionary ICE technology, the JW Marriott Indianapolis will be offering guests amenities and luxury that cannot be found anywhere else in the Midwest.”

In addition to ICE TV, guests of the JW Marriott Indianapolis Downtown will soon be able to access their own virtual concierge on their smartphones with ICE Mobile. Through the simple free download of an application, guests can conveniently access the same hotel services available on ICE TV.
