Hypercom's Optimum Terminals Achieve Certification in France

Hypercom Corporation today announced that it has achieved the first two certifications for its 32-bit multi-application Optimum T4200 and M4200 countertop and mobile payment terminal family with GIE Cartes Bancaires, the national French payment authority. Successful completion of the GIE Cartes Bancaires certification, which is one of the most comprehensive country certification processes in Europe, is a significant milestone for Hypercom and the Optimum product family. With the certification, Hypercom has commenced its launch campaign for the Optimum T4200 product series in France, where it is one of the top suppliers of card payment solutions.

This latest achievement follows the German Central Credit Committee's ZKA approval of the Optimum product family less than two months ago and strengthens Hypercom's position as a leading provider of secure payment solutions in Europe.

The Optimum countertop and mobile series has received PCI PED security approval, MasterCard's Payment Terminal Security approval for IP and wireless communication and EMV Level 1 & 2 certifications for chip card transactions.  All models share the same platform, user interface and software toolkit to maximize efficiency, application portability and offer customers a broad range of options to serve any market need.  Additionally, Hypercom's existing Artema payment applications are now available on the Optimum T4200 and M4200 family of terminals.
