Hotel del Coronado Upgrades Materials Management System from Agilysys

The Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, Calif. announces that it has upgraded to the latest version of the Materials Management System (MMS) inventory procurement solution from Agilysys with enhanced features and functionality that will enable the 679-room property to increase efficiency and streamline operations.

The MMS solution automates the entire procurement process, from food and beverage to general property materials, reducing labor costs and waste, and eliminating time-consuming and error-prone paper documents.

"We have used the MMS solution by Agilysys for years and were eager to take advantage of the latest technology," says Kevin Wetter, director of purchasing at Hotel del Coronado. "We are particularly impressed with the systemÃ.‚¬™s new automated e-mail bid feature, which expands the pool of qualified vendors from whom we can obtain bids and, as a result, reduces our overall costs."

Additional features of MMS 3.0 include: point-and-click functionality; the ability to route purchase requisitions for approval via e-mail or PDA; enhanced browser capabilities; and multiple par level functionality that enables the property to establish inventory levels based on seasons, days of the week or special events.
