Hotel Enhances In-Room Dining Experience with iPad Ordering

8/20/2012
Guests at New York City's Mondrian SoHo may be surprised at the ease with which they can order from the hotel's brand new coastal Italian restaurant, Isola Trattoria & Crudo Bar, thanks to hospitality technology company Intelity.

Intelity's ICE (Interactive Customer Experience) virtual concierge system makes it simple and convenient to use the complimentary iPads included in every guestroom to review signature dishes, such as the Tuna Crudo with white balsamic, watermelon and jalapeÑos and the Chitarra with roasted tomatoes, basil and parmesan. Then, guests at the Morgans Hotel Group property can choose to either place an in-room dining request for select items and enjoy their meal in the privacy of their room or make reservations to eat in the dining room of the restaurant, which is helmed by celebrated Sicilian native chef Victor LaPlaca.

ICE is also uniting technology and hotel fine dining at one of the hottest restaurants on the West Coast, Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air. A guest simply selects their menu items of choice from the guestroom ICE Touch iPad and specifies the time they would like the items to arrive at their door. Travelers who prefer to eat in the elegant ambiance of a dining room that boasts lush gardens and an intimate terrace can book a reservation in advance and then head over to partake in their choice of acclaimed dishes, such as succulent sirloin or zesty tortelloni pasta.
