Genares Worldwide Reservation Services Acheives HTNG Certification

Genares Worldwide Reservations Services (Genares), an industry-leading reservations services company, has successfully completed the Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) certification process and reinforced its commitment to support industry standards.

Hotel Technology Next Generation is a global trade association that, with collaboration among hoteliers and technology providers, fosters the development of next-generation solutions that will enable them to do business globally in the 21st century.

Certification allows for faster development of interfaces between companies and enables Genares to continue creating more consistent and functional products within the industry.

Membership in HTNG is open to hotel and hospitality companies, technology vendors, consultants, academics, press and others. At present, nearly 400 corporate and individual members from across this spectrum are active HTNG participants. Workgroup proceedings, drafts and specifications are published for all HTNG members as soon as they are created, encouraging rapid and broad adoption. Specifications are released to the public domain when they are approved for certification or when the workgroup has completed its work, typically after no more than 18 months.

"We envision a future of hotel properties running multiple vendor systems communicating efficiently and reliably," says Douglas Rice, executive vice president and CEO of HTNG. "HTNG certification ensures buyers a minimum level of interoperability with other products, reducing the cost and time involved in managing the complex systems needed to run the hotel of the future."
