Genares Central Reservation System Joins the List of PCI Compliant Providers

| January 15, 2010

Genares Worldwide Reservations Services, a provider of the GenaRaterSM Central Reservation System (CRS), has achieved certification of compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS). Genares joins a short list of compliance-certified CRS providers.

The PCI-DSS exists to safeguard customers from fraud and information theft involving online transactions. The rigorous standards dictate 12 specific requirements ranging from firewall configurations to data storage. These standards were founded in 2004 by major credit card companies including Visa, Discover, MasterCard and American Express.

With the certification, Genares and GenaRaterSM offer thousands of hotels and their customers a secure CRS with seamless GDS and PMS connectivity. With the percentage of reservations booked online growing every day, Genares recognizes the vital importance of getting ahead of the security curve.
