1/22/2014
JANUARY 22, 2014, RANDOLPH, N.J. — Hospitality Technology (HT) magazine has announced that Jim Carroll, author; innovation & trends expert, will present the keynote address at MURTEC (Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference; www.murtec.com) on March 19 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jim Carroll (www.jimcarroll.com) is acknowledged as one of the world’s leading global futurists, trends and innovation experts and has spoken for such notable clients as NASA and Walt Disney Corporation. He is known for helping high-growth organizations turn into high-velocity innovators.

His keynote speech, which will take place on Wednesday, March 19, is titled “Restaurants 3.0: A Global Futurist's Take on Consumer Trends, Food Service and Innovation.” A decade has passed since the term Web 2.0 was coined to identify the shift from static to consumer-generated online content. In this opening address, Carroll will explore the evolution to 3.0 for the restaurant industry, which could mean the difference between a location-based search for the closest coffee shop, versus a customer saying to their mobile device, “Order me a large iced latte.” Location found, order sent, payment confirmed, pick- up in five minutes.

Carroll has more than 20 years of experience studying what makes companies relentlessly creative, and how they ride critical trends in order to achieve success. At MURTEC 2014, he tackles the future of food service, covering everything from consumer expectations, to changes in e-commerce, to greater innovation trends, and more.

The 2014 MURTEC, will be held Tuesday, March 18 through Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nev. Produced by Hospitality Technology, MURTEC is lauded as the must-attend, “gold standard” event for more than 500 restaurant technology executives and solution providers. MURTEC offers three days of compelling sessions and invaluable networking opportunities.
