magazine has announced that Jim Carroll, author; innovation & trends expert, will present the keynote address at MURTEC (Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference; www.murtec.com

His keynote speech, which will take place on Wednesday, March 19, is titled “Restaurants 3.0: A Global Futurist's Take on Consumer Trends, Food Service and Innovation.” A decade has passed since the term Web 2.0 was coined to identify the shift from static to consumer-generated online content. In this opening address, Carroll will explore the evolution to 3.0 for the restaurant industry, which could mean the difference between a location-based search for the closest coffee shop, versus a customer saying to their mobile device, “Order me a large iced latte.” Location found, order sent, payment confirmed, pick- up in five minutes.
