FireFly's Phoenix POS Adds Payment, Printing Features

FireFly Technologies announces the release of an enhanced table-service software feature included within the Phoenix Point-of-Sale system.

New features include "hold-and-fire" printing to manage the timing of courses, order by seat, flexible check printing capabilities, pay by seat or sets of seats, split tickets by item, and credit card tabs for easier bar operations.

All of these features are part of Phoenix's visual table-service module that uses graphics for simplified dining room design and easy order management. Phoenix also provides complete server management, including tip reporting, a server settle process, and numerous reports.

Phoenix POS allows servers to associate a menu item by seat or can split a single item among seats, which helps when presenting the check. Checks can be printed individually by seat, by sets of seats, or one ticket with subtotals by seat.

For restaurants with bars, such as Michigan-based G's Pizzeria & Deli, Phoenix POS also offers credit card tabs. A bartender swipes the customer's credit card, returns it to the customer, and keeps a running tab. If a customer leaves suddenly, the restaurant is guaranteed payment.

"We have large restaurants; our West Branch location has five dining rooms and can seat up to 400 people," says Adam Galea, manager of G's Pizzeria's Traverse City location which uses Phoenix POS to manage table and bar operations. "Our servers love how visual Phoenix is. They can recall their orders by simply clicking on the table on the screen. It's a great convenience, especially when we're busy."
