Fallsview Casino Resort Automates Uniform Delivery
Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario has selected InvoTech Systems’ GIMS Uniform System with UHF-RFID technology. The GIMS inventory control system will interface with a White Conveyors U-Pick-It System to provide 24-hour automated uniform distribution to the property’s 3,500 uniformed team members. Plans call for the new uniform inventory tracking system to be fully operational in September 2011.
“We selected GIMS to achieve greater labor efficiency, stronger uniform tracking controls, and to maintain a perpetual inventory of our substantial garment investment for our 3,500 uniformed staff,” says Andrei Kun, executive director of resort operations for Fallsview Casino Resort. “GIMS will communicate with an automated uniform delivery system from White Conveyers. Staff members only have to present their employee ID card to an RFID reader and the system will place a clean uniform in their hands in less than a minute.”
UHF-RFID tags are sewn into uniforms that enable automated recordkeeping as uniforms move in and out of the Uniform Department and to and from laundries. The system can provide cost savings from the reduction of lost uniform items and enhanced operating efficiency. Fallsview will realize additional labor savings with GIMS interfaced to the White Conveyors automated uniform distribution system.
The GIMS UHF-RFID tracking system is able to scan, inventory, and generate reports for entire carts of uniforms at one time. This can create a huge efficiency boost for the labor-intensive job of hand counting and manual recordkeeping.
