The 2011 National Restaurant Association show
has once again descended upon Chicago’s McCormick Place, offering attendees a look at some of the latest restaurant technology solutions to hit the market. This year offers a host of technologies that play into the growing mobility trend, such as the release of mobile point-of-sale solutions from vendors including Micros and Squirrel. 1. Mobility is the Name of the Game for Micros
New mobile offerings include mymenu, mobile payments with Tabbedout, an iPad ordering app, mobile mymicros.net, Mobile iCard, and NFC pay-at-the-table with VeriFone PAYware Mobile.
Guests can navigate an interactive map of local venues, check-in to their favorite spots, leave posts letting friends know where they are, and get rewards points when they check in.
3. Squirrel Debuts POS for Android
The ability to run Squirrel Professional on an Android tablet is the latest addition to the Squirrel Mobility suite of solutions, which also includes point of sale software for the Apple iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.
New module provides a suite of social and online training tools that employers can use to develop, train and test their employees.
7. Panasonic Previews 3D Projection System
Offering consists of two PT-DW530U DLP projectors, a dual-projector stacking frame, a pair of circular polarizers, 100 pairs of circularly-polarized glasses, 133" diagonal silver screen, as well as additional components needed to setup the system.
8. ChefTec Demos Reporter Eleven
ChefTec Reporter offers consolidated reporting across the business enterprise and allows managers to mine data from multiple business units.
Self-service solution allows restaurant and bar patrons to order and pay at their table through a digital menu interface on a portable touch-screen computer, wirelessly connecting each table to the restaurant's wait staff and existing POS system.
Revel provides a complete front- and back-of-house system that manages menu and ingredients, order-taking, secure payment processing, real-time reporting, inventory management, and much more.
