Tom Gergets is the Sr. Director of Global Infrastructure Services for McDonald’s Corporation - the number one food service retailer in the world that continues to grow with more than 35,000 locations in more than 100 countries.
In his current role, Tom leads the delivery of several global infrastructure services, including networking, hosting, and computing. Tom also has responsibility for innovating and delivering all Workplace Solutions to the McDonald’s System which encompasses voice, video, collaboration, mobile, personal computing platforms, and help desk services.
Tom has over 25 years of experience working in technology holding various leadership roles including infrastructure, office automation, customer service, and general consulting – all customer focused business-enabling technologies. He began his technology career in Field Services with IBM and has held numerous positions providing expertise and consulting services focused on providing business value and innovation via technology.
Tom’s involvement with McDonald’s began in1984 when he participated in a consulting engagement resulting in establishing a McDonald’s focused practice delivering network and computing expertise. Tom formally joined McDonald’s in 2000 to lead Global Network Architecture with a focus on the development of global and restaurants infrastructure technology standards. Throughout his tenure with McDonald’s, Tom has held roles within both the global IT and US IT organizations to deliver core restaurant and consumer services such as the US wide rollout of customer Wi-Fi.
Tom maintains a unique perspective on the intersection of deep infrastructure services, end-user computing, and the value that can be realized through a customer-first focus.
