David Matthews is the Executive Vice President of Innovation and Member Advancement at the National Restaurant Association. In that role, he is responsible for business development, marketing, partner products, membership, international development and legal affairs. He is developing several new strategic business initiatives for the Association in the areas of Healthcare and Financial Services that will provide new and innovative products to restaurant owners and operators and their employees. He began his tenure at the National Restaurant Association as the Senior Vice President of Technology and Operations and the Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Matthews has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry. Previously he was a Senior Vice President for Technology and Operations of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago; President and Chief Operating Officer of RBC Mortgage Company; President and Chief Operating Officer of Ultraprise, an e-commerce technology company and Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at JPMorgan Chase Prior to his career in financial services, Matthews spent ten years with the premier management consulting firm, Booz, Allen and Hamilton, in the technology practice.
Matthews received a bachelor’s degree from Beloit College and a J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh Law School. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar. He currently serves on the Penn State University Hospitality School Technology Advisory Board and the Advisory Board to the RAMP Mobile Payments Conference. He has spoken at the Culinary Institute of America, the NRA Show, RAMP, FSTech, numerous payments conferences and the Penn State University Hospitality School. He also serves as a director of the Beloit College Alumni Association.
