Neil Schubert is the Vice President, IT Strategy for Marriott International’s Global Information Resources Organization. Neil plays a major role in the determination of which technologies and applications will be used in Marriott beyond the traditional 3-year planning horizon. Neil joined Marriott’s Information Resources (IR) division in 1996 after eight years with Renaissance Hotels. Neil has held a variety of roles in IT leadership, application development, network and operations support. He has played a focal role on a wide variety of transformational projects and initiatives over the years, including sales automation, accounting transformation, IT organizational leadership, international financial integration, Marriott’s next generation global strategy for hotel property network convergence, and most recently Marriott’s guest facing technologies strategies.
Neil Schubert has also represented Marriott in the trade organization, Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) since 2005, and has co-chaired the In Room Technology Workgroup (now the Infrastructure and Device Forum), from July 2006 until present. Neil also participates in several hotel school technology advisory groups and recently taught a graduate class in hotel technologies at the University of Delaware’s hotel school.
