Lou Ragg is Vice President of Internet Operations and Marketing for MGM Resorts International. He is responsible for all online marketing and analytic programs including online advertising, affiliate and mobile marketing, social media programs, usability studies and search engine marketing and optimization efforts for MGM Resorts International which owns and operates properties in Nevada, Mississippi and Michigan.
Under his guidance and leadership, the Company’s Internet Operations and Marketing department launched the first wireless sites in the gaming industry and the first affiliate program in the Las Vegas market. Ragg also oversaw the online integration of Mirage Resorts after the purchase by MGM Grand in 2000, and again for the Mandalay Resort Group purchase in 2005.
Prior to his current position, Ragg served as Senior Manager of Internet Operations and Marketing for MGM Grand from 1999 to 2000. In this capacity, he directed the launch of a redesigned MGM Grand website which featured industry-first e-commerce capabilities including ticket sales, dining and spa reservation portals. After its launch, www.mgmgrand.com was rated by Prudential Securities as the best overall website in the gaming industry. Ragg also managed the website development of New York-New York, MGM Grand Detroit and Primm Valley Resorts.
Ragg’s career with MGM Resorts International began at MGM Grand in 1994 as a Customer Analysis Supervisor and later as a Research Manager. During his tenure, he was instrumental in implementing new technology that helped streamline the reporting of hotel data.
Ragg has close to 20 years of hospitality experience. Prior to joining MGM Grand, Ragg worked at the Front Desk at The Riviera, Union Plaza and Best Western Mardi Gras hotels in Las Vegas, Nev.
