Bernard Gay is SVP and Chief Information Officer of Kerzner International Bahamas. He has more than 20 years experience in the IT field, with 15 years in senior level management. His IT responsibilities include setting strategic direction, implementation of projects and support of all technical services and solutions for the Bahamas business unit. In addition he also serves as a Policy Board Member setting direction and managing the overall operation for the company. Kerzner International Bahamas is an ocean themed resort that comprises 7 luxury hotels, 2 marinas, the largest casino in the Caribbean, 35 restaurants, and a 60 acre water park.
Prior to joining Kerzner Mr. Gay was the Vice President of Information Technology and a business professional of Royal Caribbean. He led the Business Operations Systems group that comprised Security & Data Privacy, Supply Chain, Financial, Business Intelligence, Human Resources and New Build Engineering. From 2000 to 2003, Bernard guided Royal Caribbean’s Enterprise Technology team’s completion of the re-architecture and implementation of the technical enterprise infrastructure. In addition, his previous experience includes IT leadership roles at these companies: Cintas, Fort James and Rubbermaid.
Mr. Gay has been published in numerous periodicals including CIO Magazine, Computerworld, Hospitality Technology, and is a sought after speaker for industry events and conferences including Hospitality Technology Forum, Marcus Evans, and HITEC. He is a recipient of numerous industry awards including “Computerworld 2003 top 100 IT Leaders”.
