David Koenig

David Koenig is the Vice President, Tax and Profitability for the National Restaurant Association. In this role, he works to develop and implement the Association's public affairs strategy on tax and profitability issues at the federal and state level. This includes issues such as access to credit, interchange fee reform, tax reform, restaurant depreciation, business meal deductibility, and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), among others. Prior to joining the National Restaurant Association, Koenig was Tax Policy Director for the American Forest and Paper Association, and held previous positions with Texaco and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Koenig holds a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers College and a J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law.
