During the Restaurant Executive Summit on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, we will be holding a Pizza Tour throughout Chicago. The tour will make three stops at different pizzerias featuring a variety of Chicago’s best pizzas including deep dish, thin crust, and Neapolitan style. Along the way the tour will travel through many of Chicago's more than 70 neighborhoods pointing out interesting historical sites, architectural beauties, and a few of ghostly areas all while learning the history of “Chicago Style Pizza.” Transportation will leave directly from the hotel at 12:30pm. Come join your fellow attendees for an afternoon of great food and networking!

A restaurant’s identity is now defined, in part, by its online experience. This leaves restaurants with the need to incorporate purposeful strategy into website design, online ordering, mobile web browsing and apps, and their approach to social media engagement. Layered on top are a variety of approaches for training employees on these tools, and monitoring and analyzing the company’s online presence. This session will help restaurants see ways to optimize their online efforts and integrate them into the brand and operations.

PCI for Hospitality: Protecting your Payment Card Data in 2012 and Beyond

The foodservice industry is known to be particularly vulnerable to card payment-related breaches, and compliance with PCI Standards is an ongoing and often challenging process. This session brings the PCI Council’s General Manager to the stage to provide the latest PCI updates in areas of specific relevance to foodservice. Topics will include: how the Council is advising merchants to handle mobile payments (and the difference in liability between consumer- and merchant-facing mobile apps), security in a tableside/wireless environment, tokenization and other best practices for restaurants.
