Shawn K. Millbern is Senior Vice President of The Robert Mayer Corporation, a Southern-California based real estate development and investment company. Mr. Millbern has served in several capacities for the company since joining in 1986, including directing the design, entitlement and development of The Waterfront, a master-planned multi-use development in Huntington Beach, California. The Waterfront currently consists of the 517-room Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa, the 290-room Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort and 184 completed luxury residences. An expansion to the existing Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort adding 151 suites, a new ballroom and health spa is currently being planned and entitled by Mr. Millbern. With the company's active management of these hotels, Mr. Millbern is closely involved in the supervision of hotel operations and additionally oversees various improvement and renovation projects including a recently completed $4 million water slide pool and several multi-million dollar room renovation programs. Mr. Millbern has also previously directed the renovation of a Las Vegas casino previously owned by the firm, and has been involved in several large-scale land acquisitions, entitlement programs and asset sales throughout his tenure with The Robert Mayer Corporation.
With over 30 years of experience in real estate development, Mr. Millbern has also supervised the construction of several high-profile commercial buildings, mixed-use condominium/retail developments, single family home subdivisions and the conversion of a high-rise apartment building to condominiums.
Mr. Millbern holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Master of Business Administration degree in real estate finance from the University of California at Los Angeles. He is also a licensed California real estate broker and has received a LEED AP accreditation. Mr. Millbern is also active in several professional organizations including CoreNet Global, UCLA Bruin Professionals, US Green Builders Council and Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals.
