John Bollen
VP of IT Strategy and Business Engagement

John Bollen is VP of IT Strategy and Business Engagement for MGM MIRAGE. In this position, Bollen is the technology leader for CityCenter, a 67-acre urban resort destination on the Las Vegas Strip which opened in 2009.
Bollen oversees strategic vision, management, and the execution of all technology for 18 million square feet of CityCenter, including cable plant, network, wireless, data center, PBX, 211 business systems and in-room technologies. While serving in this position since 2007, he has also developed technology operations and budgets for several other MGM MIRAGE properties throughout the world.
Prior to working for MGM MIRAGE, Bollen was Vice President of Product Development and Studio Operations for NBC Universal in Universal City, CA from 2002-2007. He aslo served as Chief Information Officer for a start-up medical utility company in San Diego, CA from 2001-2002.
His professional experience also includes his positions as Chief Technology Officer for Extracents Corp. in San Jose, CA (2000-2001) and Chief Technologist, Director of Desktop/Helpdesk Services and Lead Technical Consultant for the California State Automobile Association in San Francisco, CA (1996-2000).
Bollen has a Master of Business Administration degree from University of San Francisco and Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
He has completed numerous training and certification programs including the Managers Development Course, the Experience Information Management Program and Advance Information Leadership Program -- General Electric Company; and the DMAIC Six Sigma, IBM Rational Unified Process. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and completed the Cisco Seminar Series and Microsoft CIO Forum.
